What is the Kidney-Friendly Food Pantry Rx?
The Kidney-Friendly Food Pantry Rx is a tool for dietitians as they counsel patients who are food-insecure and on hemodialysis. People can take this pocket-sized card with them to the food pantry or grocery store using the list to guide them in healthful food recommendations.
Is the Rx card only for food-insecure patients?
The Kidney-Friendly Food Pantry Rx can be used by anyone for assistance at grocery stores, food pantries, or when meal planning. If you are a clinician counseling patients, mark or circle foods on the card that would be most beneficial to them. Use the special request section to request supplements, protein sources, or other important information.
